Here's a recipe for Pad Thai:
Ingredients:
8 oz rice noodles
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1/2 lb shrimp or chicken, peeled and deveined
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 cup bean sprouts
2 green onions, sliced
2 tbsp crushed peanuts
Lime wedges, for serving
For the sauce:
3 tbsp fish sauce
2 tbsp tamarind paste
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp soy sauce
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions:
Prepare the rice noodles according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
In a small bowl, mix together the fish sauce, tamarind paste, sugar, soy sauce, and red pepper flakes to make the sauce.
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp or chicken and cook until cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Push the garlic to one side and pour the beaten eggs into the skillet, scrambling them until cooked.
Add the cooked noodles to the skillet, followed by the sauce. Stir-fry everything together until well combined and heated through.
Add the cooked shrimp or chicken back to the skillet, along with the bean sprouts and sliced green onions.
Toss everything together for an additional 1-2 minutes.
Remove from heat and serve the Pad Thai hot, garnished with crushed peanuts and lime wedges.
