ALTITUDES & ATTITUDE - Get It Out
Megaforce Records
Out on 18 January 2019
Get It Out is the new full-length Megaforce debut from the band Altitudes & Attitude, .. the band features a collaboration between Anthrax’s Frank Bello and Megadeth’s David Ellefson two bass players .. how interesting .. Get It Out is meoldic and heavy ... a very solid heavy rock album. Produced by Jay Ruston .. the album features drummer Jeff Friedl (A Perfect Circle, Devo, Filter) and guests including guitarists.. Ace Frehley and Gus G., Bello stated: “All I ever wanted to do was write good songs. I’ve always been a melody guy. I love hooks; I love catchy songs with a good riff.” They definitely accomplished that..
Get It Out has been in the works for almost four years of writing and recording Bello says. “A lot of these lyrics are about the inner struggles of my life, and about the rage that has built up from my life experiences—my brother’s murder; my father abandoning my family when we were young, leaving us with no funds to pay the bills. … The ups and downs of life in general. I’ve always had an anger inside that music really helps me deal with.”
Ellefson stated: “The album has the perfect title,” “This is music that has been living inside of us for so long.”
The Altitudes & Attitude story began in 2010, when Bello and Ellefson touring together on bass clinics for the amp manufacturer Hartke. They thenstarted writing .. Ellefson was a melodic bassist as well as a rhythm guitarist..
Bello had a great voice ... “Frank is a really great singer, but he’s also a really great artist,” Ellefson says. Bello’s songwriting was a daily practice, and he regularly heads downtown from his home to test out new music at open mics.
Bello and Ellefson debuted Altitudes & Attitude in early 2014, with a self-titled three-song EP Those songs were “Booze and Cigarettes,” “Tell the World,” and “Here Again” and are on this new album Get It Out as bonus cuts, in remixed and remastered form, along with 10 new songs ... “Late,” the album’s first single guests Ace Frehley additional lead guitar on “Late” comes from Miki Black, who provides backing vocals ... .. “Out Here,” features guitar by Jon Donais of Anthrax and Shadows Fall, .. On “Slip,” Bello tells a tale of his Bronx childhood, about a friendly neighbor who fell into the depths of alcohol and drug abuse.
Nita Strauss, guests on the song “Part of Me.” Stone Sour’s Christian Martucci does lead and melody parts on the title track, and Ozzy guitarist Gus G.guests on “Here Again.” Ellefson’s contributes an instrumental titled “Leviathan,” ... Russ Parrish—a.k.a. Steel Panther’s Satchel ... contributes some leads as well...
The song Here Again is one of the heavier songs with a nice fast double pick ending... the begining of this song almost reminds me a bit of old school Stone Temple Pilots... and ends heavy.
Very solid heavy rock/rock album ..
