My minimal Sony FX3 rig accomplishes two big things: powers everything with one battery AND provides more balance of weight.

The small Sony batteries drive me nuts with how little juice they have. And I hate swapping and charging multiple types of batteries. So I introduced the SmallRig VB99 v-mount battery to power everything.
And the great thing about a V-mount battery is that it adds more weight to back of the rig, since the Sony FX3 tends to get front heavy.
I use the audio top handle a lot for running nat sound through my shotgun mic, so to make that a better experience, I've added two extension plates from SmallRig.
Overall, this is pretty minimal rigging that allows me to think less about batteries and get smoother handheld footage because of the added weight and stability.
