The Bon Religion has a wide impact on Burusho society, its culture and language. The word yur is a noun meant by blessings from which a verb Yuri means died came out, the word Boiki means the feast being offered for the name of Boyu Bon gods, or goddesses on the occasion of death of one of the family member, on the third day of his death, in this feast two types of foods being presented I.e. sharbat (cherbat) for which if prepared for that feat is called qalabat and another food being presented is lajek or harisa which is called for this purpose is chan. some names being used so far are ʂaman (ʃaman), Bochi, (shernap mi wochi) and thamal etc.
According to the Bon literature the role and position of Burusho (bru) has been discuses as "The Bru family is said to have descended from heaven to earth at Bru-sha and to have taken up the roles of preceptors of Bon. The anival of the Bru clan in Tibet was preceded by an episode of bellicose exchanges between Bru-sha in the west and a federation of the three kingdoms of Mang-yul, sPu-rang and Zhangzhung in mNga'-ris in the east. The armies of these three polities in what today is westem Tibet are recorded to have marched against Bru-sha four times, but in the end their commander and monarch was captured and held for ransom in exchange for his weight in gold, and as a result the Bru-sha emerged as victors. Four scions of the Bru clan came to mNga'-ris at the invitation of king rTse-lde, alias 'od-lde in the eleventh century. The importance of the Bru family in the transmission of Bon was effectively curtailed after their monastery dBen-sa-kha, so its clear evident that Burushaski has deep rooted relations with Bon religion. my this video aimed to unearth such facts.
