Some History. The Javelin Throw was added to The Ancient Olympic Games in 708 BC as part of the Pentathlon. In current times Javelin Throwing is also part of the Men's Decathlon, and Women's Heptathlon. Women's Javelin Throw was added to the Olympic Program in 1932. Interesting History.
The Zürich Weltklasse Javelin Throw Final was spearheaded by Tokyo 2020 Olympians, Three of them Olympic Finalists, and 2 of them Olympic Medal Winners: Olympic Silver Medalist Maria Andrejczyk (Poland) and current Reigning World Champion , and Olympic Bronze Medalist Kelsey-Lee Barber (Australia).
Side Note: ~7 minutes at the start of the video show both men and women warming up, really cool part, I left it as it is instead of trying to separate parts by gender (including separately in Women's and Men's videos). I did the same at the end of the video, in which both Women's and Men's Final Winners do a Victory lap with their National Flags (this part is ~3 minutes long). I included both parts in both Men's and Women's Javelin Throw Final Videos. End of Side Note.
The Competitors in the Women's Javelin Throw Final, and the Distance Covered:
Christin Hussong (Germany), 65.26m
Kelsey-Lee Barber (Australia), 62.68m
Nikola Ogrodníková (Czech Republic), 61.54m
Barbora Špotáková (Czech Republic), 61.43m
Līna Mūze (Latvia), 60.18m
Maria Andrejczyk (Poland), 52.30m
