Ji Chang Wook began his career in musical theatre. In 2006, he apparently made an on screen debut in the film Days. In 2010, he was cast in his first lead role in the long running daily drama of 159 episode, Smile Again.

His breakthrough came through his role as Toghon Temür (also known as Ta Hwan), the 16th emperor of the Yuan Dynasty, in the historical drama Empress Ki.

We also just learned that he will be cast in a Chinese drama, Mr Right, as Wang Weian! Two upcoming dramas to look forward to! 😍

UPDATE: he will also be starring in a new drama with Girl’s Generation’s Sooyoung!!

FUN FACTS:
Ji Chang Wook grew up in Anyang City, Gyeonggi Province, and is the only child in the family. Because of the excellent motor cells, all sports perform very well.

In high school, he performed well and kept in the top five in the class, and even ranked first in the school in chemistry. The high school teacher said that if you continue to study, you can enter a prestigious university of SKY with such a score, but after finishing his second year of high school, Ji Chang Wook decided to be an actor as his future career aspiration. He resolutely changed to the essay group and studied at the actor tuition school for about a month. Then he was admitted to the Department of Drama and Film at Dankook University.

Did you know? His drama series, ‘Backstreet Rookie’, has been reported over 6,000 times to the Korea Communications Standards Commission for being too sexual for TV!!
