Germany has reacted to the removal of Rahul Gandhi from Parliament following his conviction in a criminal defamation case. The German government said “standards of judicial independence and fundamental democratic principles” should apply in this case. It further informed that it has taken "note of the verdict of first instance” against Rahul Gandhi and the “suspension of his parliamentary mandate.”
