EAST PRICE HILL, Ohio (Jeff Hirsh) -- Cincinnati Police say a man shot by officers in East Price Hill was carrying a loaded shotgun, which he pointed at the cops. He is now in critical but stable condition as investigators sort out what led up to the city's first police-involved shooting of 2015. Earlier Monday afternoon, top police officials played a 911 call, showed dramatic cruiser cam video, and outlined what's known so far. The incident began around midnight on Monday in the 800 Block of Fairbanks Avenue. Police say 24-year-old Christian Jackson broke into his ex-girlfriend's house, stole a radio and some other things, and was walking down Fairbanks in the middle of the road because of the icy sidewalks. In her 911 call, the ex-girlfriend said Jackson actually broke down the door. Police arrived on Fairbanks and top police brass say the two officers told Jackson repeatedly to drop the shotgun. When Jackson made a move with the weapon, the cops fired. The chief says Jackson continued to run towards the house he'd broken into, but collapsed and was arrested. He is listed in critical but stable condition at a local hospital, charged with aggravated burglary and felonious assault. Police say Jackson did not fire his shotgun, but it did have four shells in it. Police officials say Jackson told officers on the scene not to mess with him. The two officers, Jason Bolte, and James Davis, are on paid administrative leave while the investigation continues. Both have been on the force since 1998. This was the first time either had fired his weapon in the line of duty.Follow Jeff Hirsh on Twitter @local12jeff, and LIKE him on Facebook.Follow us on Twitter @Local12 and LIKE us on Facebook for updates!
