Fifty-two American couples, mostly Californians, flew to Korea aboard a chartered Flying Tiger C-114. 78 orphans were adopted from the Holt Orphanage at Ilsan, 20 miles northwest of Seoul. Oregon farmer, Harry Holt, founded the American Mothers of Adopted Korean Children organization to provide homes for children orphaned by the Korean War.
