I've wanted to ride on WVU's fascinating PRT system for years, and when I got the chance to go through Morgantown recently, I took full advantage of it!
This is a non-stop ride from the Health Sciences Campus (HSC) station to Walnut.
Also, while this system might appear futuristic (or at least retro-futuristic), there are quite a few issues. As can be seen in the video, I was waiting quite a while for a car to be dispatched, despite it being in the station with me; it seems that the system waits five minutes after a ride is requested to see if there is anyone else coming. The ride is also unimaginably noisy and bumpy, as you can HEAR in the video! The cars are also starting to show their age - the poor ride aside, the climate control systems seem to not always be up to snuff, and one car drove itself to the repair bay because the doors wouldn't open, while another one had no air conditioning, something which was apparently not uncommon to returning students!
All in all this is an amazing system from an aesthetic and transit nerd perspective, but it does fall flat on the execution, especially in the little details.
