Saint-Rémy-de-Provence is a village with a rich ancient heritage, as shown by its Roman monuments. The most impressive ones are the Triumphal Arch and the Jules Mausoleum, which stand at the entrance of the old city of Glanum, a site that reveals the history of different civilizations. The arch celebrates the Roman victory over Gaul, while the mausoleum honors a local family who became Roman citizens. Glanum also has other remarkable structures, such as temples, baths, theatres, forums, houses and a dam.
