Just months before the election of President Trump, the Justice Department made a huge decision: to end the use of private prisons. Private prisons and private detention facilities – an important distinction – are run by individual companies and are infamous for their poor conditions and treatment of detainees. But it seems President Trump isn't following through on rolling back private prisons. Now, why could that be?
