Handmade honey soap:
This is a simple melt and pour soap recipe. I used honey fragrance to give the soap a beautiful gentle scent. These are the perfect little gifts for Christmas. Remember to always let your soaps cool to room temperature - never place them in the fridge or freezer as this can cause sweating or cracking.
Directions on how to make:
-Note: 420g soap base made 8x 55g soaps and I used 8 grams of fragrance.
Step One: Dice the kilo of soap base into 1 - 2cm pieces. Place the amount of soap required for the mould you chose into the microwave safe jug and melt in bursts until liquid - take care not to overheat. Add Fragrance or Essential Oil and stir well to combine.
Step Two: Keeping the jug low to the mould, carefully pour the soap into the mould cavities.
Step Three: Continue filling all the cavities in the mould.
Step Four: Now allow the soap to cool and set up fully before attempting to unmould.
Step Five: Once cold, carefully release the air lock, and peel the mould back from the set soap.
Mica Powder:
* Simply take an old, small paint brush and carefully brush the Mica over the soap - do not inhale the dust. After brushing over the soap, carefully blow the excess Mica away.
If you have a tin of hair spray in the bathroom, you can give a quick spray to secure the mica, if not, or if you prefer not to use it that is fine, just take extra care when handling your soap.
