First played on August 28, 1982 "West L.A. Fadeaway" appeared on the 1987 Grateful Dead studio album "In The Dark". The version I've presented in this multi-part lesson resembles more what you'd hear in live performances rather than the album version. Jerry Garcia played his parts (minus the guitar solos) fingerstyle, which really allows you to control each note and achieve a sound hard to replicated with a pick.
