Jaipurnama is the vibrant Hindi translation of Festival Director Namita Gokhale’s evocative insider novel Jaipur Journals. Set against the backdrop of the Jaipur Literature Festival, it takes us into the minds and hearts of the readers and writers who throng the magical annual gathering .
Namita Gokhale is the author of twenty-one books including eleven works of fiction, and editor of numerous anthologies. Her acclaimed debut novel, Paro: Dreams of Passion, was published in 1984. Recent works of fiction include The Blind Matriarch, Jaipur Journals and Betrayed By Hope. She is also the co-founder and co-director of the Jaipur Literature Festival. She has been recognised both for her writing and her commitment to multilingual Indian literature and cross-cultural literary dialogue. She was the Sahitya Akademi (National Academy of Letters) awardee for 2021, and received the prestigious First Centenary National Award for Literature in 2017. She has recently been honoured with the Niliamarani Sahitya Samman 2023.
Saurabh Dwivedi is the Founding Editor of The Lallantop, India's most popular vernacular digital-first news venture known for its political coverage and new-age writing style. He is also the editor of India Today Magazine-Hindi. Currently, Dwivedi hosts popular shows, including ‘The Lallantop Show’, ‘Duniyadaari’, and ‘Netanagri’ and has been instrumental in changing the landscape of news, offering audiences an alternative to television by establishing a credible medium via The Lallantop.
Pushpesh Pant is an author-translator, columnist, TV anchor and an occasional teacher. India the Cookbook, written by him, made it to the New York Times bestseller list in 2010 and has been translated into Dutch and German. His most recent book, The Indian Vegetarian was published by the Phaidon Press in 2018. He just finished a book narrating the story of Delhi through its foods.
Prabhat Ranjan, a fiction writer, college teacher, translator and editor, has published two collections of short stories and translated more than 30 books including Anne Frank’s Diary, Mohsin Hamid’s Moth Smoke, Khushwant Singh’s Khushwantnama, of Devdutt Pattanaik’s Devi, Namita Gokhale’s Aandhari . He has been awarded the Premchand Samman and his book Paltoo Bohemian, a memoir of Manohar Shyam Joshi, was a big success.
Aditi Maheshwari-Goyal is Executive Director at Vani Prakashan Group and is the Managing Trustee at Vani Foundation. She teaches Publishing and Editing at the University of Delhi. She is the Festival Director of Hindi Mahotsav and one of the founding members of the Jaipur BookMark, South Asia's largest B2B publishing platform. She is also the Secretariat Manager of Vani Foundation Distinguished Translator Award at Jaipur BookMark, in association with Teamwork Arts.
