A waveguide is the most popular form of transmission line that is used to guide electromagnetic waves from one point to another. This video is a continuation of the previous one. The geometry creation of the WR-15 waveguide along with the basic concepts of waveguides was covered in the previous lesson. This video covers the next steps, such as assigning excitations, adding solution setup, and post-processing the results obtained from the simulation. The cutoff frequency of various modes propagating inside the waveguide is determined by plotting the real and imaginary parts of the propagation constant. The field distributions for different modes are also plotted for a better understanding.
