Hello everyone, Raksha bandhan is just around the corner and it's the perfect time to make a sweet recipe so today I am sharing very easy to make and very delicious sweet recipe "Mawa Peda". FULL RECIPE:
Ingredients
Milk powder- 1 1/2 cup
Milk- 1/4 cup +2 tbsp
Sugar- 3/4 cup
Butter or ghee- 2 tbsp, melted
Cardamom powder- 1/2 tsp
Saffron- 7-8 threads soaked in 1 tbsp milk
Ghee to grease the plate and palm while making pedas
Pistachios to garnish

Mix milk powder and sugar in a pan. Add milk and mix well and cook on low to medium flame while stirring continuously. Add melted butter or ghee and keep stirring until the mixture leaves the sides of the pan and starts to form a dough. Add cardamom powder and saffron milk and mix well. Keep stirring until the mixture turns dough like. You can check if the mixture is ready by taking a pea size mixture in your hand and if makes a ball without sticking to your hand then it’s done (be careful as the mixture will be hot to touch). Now grease a plate and transfer the dough in the plate. Let it cool for few minutes by mixing it with a spoon. When ready to touch, grease your palms with melted ghee and knead the peda dough until smooth with your hands (don’t let the dough cool down completely otherwise it will harden and you won’t be able to make the pedas). Now roll the pedas out of dough and garnish each peda with pista or any other nut of your choice. Let the pedas cool down completely so that they don’t feel chewy (they might feel little chewy when warm). Enjoy!!
