The protagonist, Ahn, is completely absorbed in her new iPlant 14 display, watching videos of a man golfing by the ocean. She's excited about her new scar, which she plans to flaunt at the partner meeting with Margaret, who she dislikes. But suddenly, Ahn's reality shifts, and she's confronted with a bearded man's fearful face, her surroundings changing to a bright white room. Confused and scared, she asks where she is, and then blackness creeps in. But just as suddenly, Ahn is back at her desk, looking out at the golf course with her iPlant feed displaying information about her surroundings. What just happened to Ahn, and will she ever find out?
