In this video I take you through the various health impacts that space travel have on the Human body and explain why the human body isn't built for space travel, from a doctors perspective.
We look at footage from the Canadian Space Agency with clips featuring Chris Hadfield and Sunita Williams at the International Space centre.
I describe the different illnesses that can afflict the human body from T-minus 10 seconds all the way through to T-plus 2 years. From loss of consciousness at take off through to nausea, muscle loss, sleep deprivation and depression.
I also touch upon how these are depicted in the movies, Interstellar, the Martian and Sunshine.
