Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced on Tuesday more than $75 million in funding over the next three years to combat crime in the province, which would help fight gun violence and "disrupt gang activities and the drugs and human trafficking that fund these criminal elements."
“There can be no mercy when it comes to cracking down on these crimes and the terrible people who commit them,” he said.
Ford made the announcement alongside Solicitor General Sylvia Jones and Attorney General Doug Downey.
The premier also announced last week an investment of more than $267 million over the next three years to support community safety and policing grant programs.
