We each had various approaches to training for the Rim2Rim. Our training and if we felt we would make any adjustments in the future.
Recommendations:
Join Grand Canyon hiking groups on Facebook and local groups and ask questions!
Consistent cardio sessions (walk, bike, run)
Treadmill @ at incline
Longer hike weekly or multiple days a week (we worked up to longest hikes at 17 and 19.6 miles)
Strength Training 2-3x a week
Focus on lower body and core workouts while strength training
