Who knew water could actually be this pink?! 💕🌸💝🌷🐷🎀💄👙🐽👚👛🎟️🦩

When people talked about travelling to the Pink Lake in @westernaustralia, I was like pfftttt ok I doubt it could be THAT pink but okay.

Then we road tripped up to Kalbarri and stumbled across the pink lake and WOW it’s legit pink hahaha. So then I googled how it gets that pink colour and this is what I found.

APPARENTLY it’s pink hue is created by the presence of carotenoid-producing algae (whatever that is), which is a source of beta-carotene; a food-colouring agent; and a source of Vitamin A.

So essentially it’s producing a form of natural food colouring!! 😯 HOW FREAKING COOL?!
