Governor Christie: So I want to thank Joan again for allowing me to come here today. She and all the folks who work here do extraordinary work, and, you know, this is the kind of stuff that really isn't about party, and you see here today, you know, Senator Cunningham and Mayor Healy. They know how important this place is, and, you know, I didn't ask Joan this but I got to assume that when people come in here Joan doesn't ask them whether they're a Democrat or a Republican. She doesn't ask them whether they're an independent or if they voted in the last election. She says what do you need and how can we help? And this government in Trenton is about trying to change this hyper-partisan activity that we have all over the country, and asking some very simple questions: how can we most effectively, efficiently, and fairly deliver services to people in this state who need them? And I don't care whether those people are Democrats or Republicans or independents. What I care about is if they're in need and we can do it in an effective and efficient way that we do it. And that's why Senator Cunningham supports this program. That's why Mayor Healy supports this program. That's why I support the program. We'll have other differences on other issues, but not on this, and you watch us work together on these kind of things, and we'll continue to work together on other issues of common interest. That's what this country wants, and that's what this state demands, is to stop the hyper-partisanship. Start working together. That's what we've done over the last three years and we're going to continue to do it, and places like this have been the beneficiary of that, because I don't care whether it's in Jersey City and whether I only get fifteen votes in Jersey City next time. The people here need this type of care and it makes us a better, more compassionate, smarter state by having it, and that's my job as Governor regardless of the politics.
So Joan, thanks for having me. All the members of the board here, the FQHC's who are here, thank you for the great work that you do every day for the citizens of the state, and I thank the Senator and the Mayor for being here and spending their time with me this morning. It's always good to spend time with them and the administration for being here as well.
Thank you very much, and we'll see you all soon.
