I made Kichiri Quroot with meatballs earlier this week, and many of you requested the recipe for the kofta. So, I decided to share my delicious recipe with you all. 😋
Afghan Kofta is a delicious meatball dish with a flavorful sauce.

Ingredients:
For the meatballs:
500g ground beef (veal)
1 onion
1 potato
4 garlic cloves
A handful of fresh coriander
2 tbsp sunflower oil
4 tbsp kofta spice mix
For the sauce:
1 diced onion
2 minced garlic cloves
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp curry powder
2 tsp salt
2 tbsp tomato paste
2 cups water
Garnish:
1 tbsp chopped fresh coriander
Instructions:
* In a blender, puree onion, potato, coriander, garlic, and 2 tbsp of sunflower oil.
* Mix the puree with the ground beef and add 4 tbsp of kofta spice mix. Mix well.
* Heat oil in a large pan and sauté the diced onions until golden brown. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.
* Add cumin seeds, curry powder, salt, and cook for another minute.
* Stir in tomato paste and cook for an additional minute.
* Add 1 cup of water and stir, then add another cup of water and let the sauce simmer on low heat.
* Form the meat mixture into ping pong sized meatballs.
* Add the meatballs to the sauce and cook for approximately 30 minutes.
Garnish with fresh coriander and serve with rice, or use the meatballs for Kichiri Quroot
