Hi,in this video we can see how to make Vetrilai Poondu Sadam( Betel leaves garlic rice ) in Tamil.This recipe was prepared by Darshan and Grace in cook with comali show telecasted on Vijay Television.
VETRILAI POONDU SADHAM | COOK WITH COMALI RECIPE | BETEL LEAVES GARLIC RICE
INGREDIENTS
Rice - 1 cup
betel leaves - 2
dried red chilies - 3
mustard
cumin - ¼ tsp
fennel - ¼ tsp
urad dal - ½ tsp
chana dal - ½ tsp
peanuts - 2 tsp
curry leaves
turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
chili powder - ½ tsp
pepper - ¼ tsp
cumin powder - ¼ tsp
oil
salt
METHOD OF PREPARATION
1.Heat oil in a kadai.Add a few mustard,¼ tsp cumin,¼ tsp fennel,½ tsp urad dal,½ tsp chana dal,2 tsp peanuts and saute until you get a nice aroma.
2.Then add 3 dried chili and a few curry leaves and continue to saute.
3.Add 10 shallots and 10 garlic cloves and saute it well.,Add required water.
4.Once the shallots are cooked add 2 betel leaves and saute for one more minute.
5.Add ¼ tsp turmeric powder,½ tsp chili powder,¼ tsp pepper and ¼ tsp cumin powder.Saute until the raw smell of spices goes,
6.At last add 1 cup rice and mix well on low flame for about 2 minutes.
VETRILAI POONDU SATHAM READY !!!
