Wire-Free LED Patterns.

Applies to First Generation arlo camera and base station.

In this video, we will learn about the meaning of the various light codes that are used in the arlo wire-free camera and base station.
When the base station is powered-on, all its lights will light-up green for a brief moment.
The power light will remain amber while the base boots up.
Once booting is complete, the power light will turn green and a connection to the cloud will be established.
The cloud indicator light will turn on at this time.

If this light is off, it means that there are no cameras synced to the base station.
This can also mean that there are no cameras in range, or that their batteries are drained.
This is an indicator for “Smart Home” features that we won’t go into in this video.
And this will light up when a USB device is connected to the base station.

Booting the camera.

When you insert the batteries into the camera you should see a brief blue light.
This means that the camera has booted correctly and it is ready to sync.
We are ready to add the camera to our base station.
--each camera must be added one at a time.
To add a camera, press the button on top of it. The camera will begin to blink a blue light.
Now press the button on the side of the base.
The camera and base station will establish a secure wireless connection, indicated by the blinking lights.
Once the connection is secured, the blinking camera indicator light will briefly turn off.
And the blue light in the camera will blink rapidly.
This is good news.
It means that the camera and the base station have completed their sync.
The base station’s camera indicator light will return, and will remain green as long as there are synced cameras in range.
The light in the camera will turn off.
If the sync fails, the camera will blink with a fast amber light.
Please try pressing the button on the base station and the button on the camera again.

You must repeat these actions for each camera that you want to add to the base station!
--each camera must be added one at a time.

Your camera should remain operational for many weeks, depending on environment and use.
After a while you will notice that the camera is blinking an amber light every few seconds…
This means that it is time to replace the batteries.

As before, the camera will boot with a steady brief blue light.
Because the camera is already synced with the base station, it will automatically reconnect after a few seconds.
Once it is securely connected to the base station, the camera will signal success with a fast-blue blink.

If your camera is updating its firmware, it will indicate it by blinking blue and amber until it’s ready.
When the firmware is done uploading, the camera will reboot with the usual brief blue light.
Once the camera automatically reconnects to the base station, it will indicate success with a fast-blue blink.
