Captain Yashika is an ex-Army Short Service Commissioned Officer and Kargil war veteran. She joined the Indian Army in 1994, a year after the Indian Army started inducting women into their short service commission.
In 1999, she was the first woman officer posted in the high-altitude military outposts at Leh and Kargil. Despite being in the second trimester of her pregnancy at that time, she fulfilled all her duties with a firm resolve and determined mindset. She actively participated in Operation Vijay at Kargil by supervising the necessary security and logistics to ensure no breaches at any point in time. She was awarded two medals for her bravery during this operation.
After retiring from the Army, she has had a diverse career trajectory, having served as the Director of ECHS Polyclinic, the principal of Asha School, and as an Administrative Officer at Symbiosis University. Capt. Yashika is also a distinguished Josh Talks & TEDx speaker. She is also a regular presence on Radio 91.1 FM, wherein she has received the title of Warrior 2.5.
Capt. Yashika currently focuses on being a change maker, a warrior mindset coach, a professional motivational speaker, and a corporate leadership multiplier. She prides herself on being a solid organizer, motivator, team player, and decisive leader with a proven track record to handle various situations.
