Things to try if you have not remembered a dream in a really long time:
- If you dont have a dream journal, start one. Even when you dont remember anything, write that down for the habit's sake. Say you remember fragments, or feelings or small details. It's worth recording.
-Think back to the last dream you remember having. Journal on it, write it out in your dream journal. Remember this dream as much as possible. Now think to what time in your life was your last dream? Maybe weeks or years ago. Analyze your life situation at that time.
-Sometimes our dreams are suppressed as a result of trauma or emotional Blockages. If this is true for you, work on confronting and addressing that blockage so you can heal and open your dream life back up.
-Set dream intentions every night. This can be done in many ways, just tell yourself that you will remember dreams. be prepared with your dream journal next to your bed to write it all down in the morning. imagine yourself waking up remembering vivid long dreams! Incubate the type of dreams you want to have.
-Try taking b6 vitamins. They are good for energy and known for increasing dream recall. It is an accessible and natural supplement you can find at your local grocery store. Give it time to kick in- like at least a month.
-Wake up slowly in the morning. focus on any dream feelings and lingering thoughts. stay in the same body position that you were sleeping in, and dont wake up startled or quickly. Linger in hypnagogia
-Dont smoke weed. it suppresses REM, and makes it hard for MOST people to recall any dreams.
