Breaking News: The 49th GST Council meeting was presided over by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today in Delhi alongside Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary, her state equivalents, and other senior officials. Following the meeting, FM announced rate reductions on a few goods and said that compensating cess to states for June 2022 will be cleared today. Check all details here.
1. Choosing a GST Appellate Tribunal approved with a linguistic adjustment. The revised draught will be distributed within the following five to six days.
2. The GST Council decides to lower the Tax on some tracking devices and pencil sharpeners.
3. The Council granted an exemption on coal rejects delivered to and received by the washeries.
4. GST on one kind of liquid jaggery is now zero instead of 18% if it's loose. The tax rate on this will be 5% if it is pre-packaged and labelled, and 0% if it is loose.
