Congratulations to all my teammates in 4D for this Sunspire record and for the world record sweep in the Greymoor patch.
This was one of the few runs I've ever recorded. I generally do not upload POVs so our team maintains a tactical advantage over our competition. However, the nerf to Thrassian should mean that this record remains unbroken for a while; so I figured what the heck.
For the Lokkestiiz fight, I'm in charge of keeping up Crusher, Alkosh and Stonefist on the boss. I also am chiefly in charge of managing the Fire and Ice Atronachs adds. I mainly bring the Fire Atronachs into group to die as much as possible for Thrassian stacks and to avoid them casting their AOE self destruct ability, which is based on a timer.
The scheme I've come up with for tanking Ice Atronachs is for me to hold 2 Ice Atros on the first "set" of Storm Atronachs and the MT to hold his 1 Ice Atro on the 2nd set. After the first set of atros are killed, I leapfrog the MT and prestack my Ice Atros to the 3rd set of Storm Atros. The MT then leapfrogs my stack and so forth. This actually allows for more cleave on the Ice Atros as they do not need to chase the DPS killzones, and by prestacking the Ice Atros it also gives the DPS clear visibility on where the cleaves will be facing.
On the Lokkestiiz fight, I also take charge of casting Purge at strategic intervals to remove the Storm Bound, Minor Vulnerability and Burning debuffs from allies, which in combination with other damage sources and high Thrassian stacks can kill a DD fairly easily. Some examples are as follows:
- During Static (Beam Phase)
- Before the barrier cast to maintain it's integrity for the beam damage
- During Storm Atronach explosions
- Before the impact of Relentless Gale
- Entry into cages when Storm Atronachs are up
For the Yolnahkriin fight, I keep up Crusher, Stonefist and a 2nd Alkosh. I have a fairly easy job of holding the Iron Atronach and ensuring he faces away from the group.
For the Nahviintaas fight, my primary responsibility is to tank the statues in a way that never endangers the group, while keeping Stonefist up on the boss as best as possible. I always attempt to tank the statues near the edge of the arena, and bait their slams outwards and never anywhere close to the group. I am also in charge of stacking one of Fates during the add phases, during which I try to ensure the statues do not slam near the group or get off their interruptible Hail of Stones attacks.
I made some slight mistakes here and there, in particular on Nahvii where I didn't realize I was out of magicka to range taunt the last statue and let it slam a little close to group, but it was fairly clean overall.
