Today our trip is to the famous Harshil valley.
Harshil, the Himalayan paradise, is a village, tourist hill station and army area on the banks of the Bhagirathi, on the way to Gangotri, in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand.
Its Situated at an altitude of 9,005 ft from sea level, Harsil is located at 78kms from Uttarkashi ,. In recent travellers and nature lovers visit harshil valley for its serene natural beauty and peacuful surroundings in the lap of himalayas. There are various adventurous trekking routes that you can do in the Harshil also we participated in some of those.
So it was such a fun and amazing experience for us in Harshil.
Firstly we travelled to harsil and then we took our journey forward to Gartang gab.
Gartang Gali is 90km from Uttarkashi a district in Uttarakhand. This is one of the oldest trek in Uttarakhand. There is a bridge built 150 years ago and is a trade between China and Barhat Market in Uttarkashi. This route was closed in 1962 after the India China war.
Now this route is opened. This bridge is at an altitude of 11000 feet.
While talking to the locals, they told us that the people of Uttarkashi built the trek via Nelong Valley for trade with Tibet. They informed us that cloth of leather, wool and salt were transported from Tibet to Badahat in Uttarkashi. There is a beautiful 😍 view of Nelang Valley from this bridge.
The stairs of Gartang Gali are unique example of engineering.
You must visit this place and best time to visit is between May to October.
