An 11 story building owned by First Baptist was demolished Saturday morning, collapsing with a boom and a pillar of dust.
The implosion at 505 N. Ervay St. was set off shortly after 7:30 a.m., but road closures began at 6 a.m. to create a safety zone inside Pacific Avenue, North Field Street, San Jacinto Street and North St. Paul Street. The roads will reopen by 10 a.m., the city said in a release.
