Hello :)
This is the requested transcription I've done of The Rolling Stones song "Sliver Train" from their 1973 album "Goats Head Soup". Keith Richards was the bass player on this track.
You can find this transcription at Muzento when you sign up with an Intermediate Lesson Plan.
This is a straight ahead rock tune. No laying back on this one...keep rockin'! :) There's something about this part that feels like a guitar playing the bass. Maybe his use of the "Blister in the Sun" kind of lick (although this song came out before that) or his using the open strings for the G pentatonic lick? At any rate, I think it's a good part he came up with and it really drives and pushes the song along.
If I was playing this in a band, I wouldn't worry about every little 8th note. I'm sure I'd keep my eyes and ears open and listen to whats happening with the other guys in the band. It's a jam tune...have fun with it and make it rock would be my attitude :)
I hope you enjoy it and thanks for watching :)
