The fifty-fifth day of the uprising, Sunday. After the fall of Czerniakowska Dyke, Mokotow becomes the main target for the Germans. The insurgents lose Królikarnia and an outpost at 162 Pulawska St. The situation in the fighting is hopeless, many soldiers are wounded.
The Germans tighten the siege around the three insurgent outposts that are still fighting - southern Mokotow, northern ¯oliborz and Śródmie¶cie. Between 24 and 27 September, Mokotow becomes the site of the largest and bloodiest fighting in the capital. From the early morning hours the Germans strike with artillery, mine-throwers and aerial bombardment.
On that day the impossible happens - companies of ‘Olza’ battalion under the command of Major Witold Obarski-Bialynowicz a.k.a. Reda repulse all the attacks of tanks and German infantry at the points at Niepodleg³o¶ci Avenue, corner of Odyńca and corner of Ursynowska.
The Germans occupy Królikarnia Park and force the insurgents to withdraw from their positions at Pulawska to the Ksawerow line.

- The Germans systematically bombard Mokotow. ‘We had no way to evacuate the wounded, we waited until our tenement was bombed’. - recalled a nurse pseudonym Krystyna Brezol. (RWE, August 1965)
