The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on 22 November said that it had received "some inputs" from the United States during a recent discussion on security matters about a 'nexus' between organised criminals, terrorists and others. MEA's response came hours after a UK-based daily reported that the United States "thwarted a conspiracy to assassinate" Khalistan separatist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun on American soil. "During the course of recent discussions on India-US security cooperation, the US side shared some inputs pertaining to nexus between organised criminals, gun runners, terrorists and others. The inputs are a cause of concern for both countries and they decided to take necessary follow up action," Arindam Bagchi said. The statement was released by the Ministry of External Affairs following media queries over a report by the Financial Times which claimed that the US government had "issued a warning" to India over concerns that New Delhi was "involved in the plot" to eliminate Pannun. In today's The Lallantop Show, we have discussed this matter in detail.
