Remember when Knight Rider jumped the shark? I loved that show, but I started to lose interest with the crazy super pursuit mode when KITT would transform. For something that played on the fact that it was sleek, subtle and discreet, protruding wild wings just didn't sit well with me.
However, that's what this crazy Ariel HIPERCAR - that's spelled with an I after the H - reminds me of. It's mental.
But in this case, it's all real and functional. It needs all that aero, because this can hit 60mph in under 2 seconds, and 100mph in less than four!
It's electric. Four motors, total of 1180bhp and 1800Nm of torque. Range is 320 miles.
But it's kind of a range-extender hybrid. But instead of an engine, it's got a turbine that uses catalytic exothermic reaction to create energy at 120,000rpm to charge the batteries.
I don't know what that means, but I want it so I can say 'atomic batteries to power, turbines to speed!
