Vinay is one of my top three Siegfried, he has beautiful timbre, huge volume, exquisite high notes (he even sang a high C at 19:12), and great sense of musicality. Unfortunately he didn't record the full opera of Gotterdammerung. Varnay is great too, her Brunnhilde is only second to Kirsten Flagstad and Helen Traubel. Mitropoulos is way better than the overrated Solti, his interpretation of Gotterdammerung is very exciting.
