Dream Theater fans rejoice .. as the writing sessions for Dream Theater‘s new and reunion album with drummer Mike Portnoy is to start in Feb . yes Portnoy is back as he rejoined in October 2023 after leaving in 2010.

guitarist John Petrucci,stated the band will get together in Feb to start throwing ideas around .. for their 16th album. see interview above with Guitar World adn John stated:
“Well, very soon. So, we start the new album in less than two weeks. And we’re looking forward to it. It’s really exciting to have Portnoy back in the band. We started the band together.”
“We haven’t started working on new music. We haven’t written a note yet, but I’m sure when we get together, it’s just gonna be like old times. So, I’m really looking forward to doing that and diving in.”
