The first concert I ever saw at First Avenue was Husker Dü with Man Sized Action in 1985. I remember seeing this song on some video show of alternative rock. My favorite part is the snare drum roll by the dearly departed Grant Hart.

These videos were recorded during the early stages of the Coronavirus era. These are weird times. Shows got cancelled, recording gigs postponed indefinitely. Then the riots happened and our venues were destroyed.
(((((((((((((((about me))))))))))))))
Hello - my name is Rich Mattson. I am a musician/songwriter and producer/engineer living in northern Minnesota. I began performing in 1980 at the age of 13, and took up songwriting shortly after that. Since then I have led several bands, most notably the Glenrustles(1988-1999) and national touring act Ol’ Yeller (2000-2013). In 1991 I opened my own recording studio in Uptown Minneapolis, and over the years I have worked with thousands of artists. I have changed the location of the studio four times, from small basements and garages, finally landing at a country church in the northwoods of Minnesota, just outside Eveleth. Currently I am leading a cosmic folk rock group called “Rich Mattson and the Northstars” and collaborating with my partner Germaine Gemberling. I also continue to record and produce music at my recording studio, Sparta Sound. Music is my life. It’s what I do. And I love it.
