I bought 12 (+1) boxes of Astro 18 pellets online. They are the newest brand of .22 airgun pellets.
Unfortunately, this brand seems to be incompatible with my Davao Brass Barrel, which used to be doing good with resized Super Zero pellets.
With a bit more effort in pushing the Astro 18 pellets into the chamber of the DBB, they can be used without resizing them.
But the grouping was far from being satisfactory.
So I resized a few with an old JBC resizer (came with a JBC PCP in 2007) and the groups had improved a little.
The shot groups of resized Super Zero pellets are better, though, using the same resizer (pls refer to an earlier post).
Today, I decided to use an equally old syringe-type resizer made by veteran airgun maker Esting Manlapat of Pampanga.
The Astro's group improved a little.
I also compared the Astro's shot group with that of Super Zero, which were also resized with Manlapat-made resizer.
Result: The Astro pellets resized with the syringe-type resizer are more compatible with my DBB. But the shot group of SZ is still better as far as my barrel is concerned.
