Komoot have now added some excellent additional privacy settings that have been much requested by the community - I will quickly explain them to you here.

So you want to know how to use the new #privacy zones on #komoot. You can use these to hide private locations, like your home or your work address, so you can share your Tours without worrying about your privacy. You can only manage your privacy #zones on our website, not in the mobile apps.
Segments of a Tour that start or end within a privacy zone will remain hidden – only you will be able to see them. However, the privacy zone will not be applied if you pass that location along a Tour. Privacy zones do not impact the #Tour data or your statistics.
Depending on whether you have a public or a private profile, you will have different settings available to control who can access your Tours. You can set these by adjusting the visibility of each Tour to:
“Only you” - your Tours are private by default. No one can view, like or comment on them, and other komoot users won’t get notifications when you complete private Tours.
“Close friends” - you can share yours Tours with people on your close friends list and they will get notified when you complete a Tour and be able to interact with it. Your Tour will not be accessible to anyone else.
“All followers” - if you have a private account, you can share the Tour with everyone who follows you. All followers will be able to like and comment on your Tour.
“Everyone” - if you have a public account, the Tour will be visible to everyone, and all komoot users will be able to like and comment on it.
You can block users on komoot. Blocking a user means that they will not be able to see, like or comment on your Tours. Your username, profile picture, Highlights that you have created and any tips and comments on Highlights will always be visible to everyone. Blocked users will not be able to see your bio, statistics, the people you follow, your Tours and Collections, Pioneer points and so on.
Blocking always works both ways. If you block someone, you will not be able to access their content or interact with them on komoot either.

More info on the versions of Komoot
Free region
Your first single region is on us, so you can test all our core features for free. After signing up you can go to the regions area of the map or to the shop on our website. We will propose regions near you, based on your location, but you can enter any city you like in the search bar. We advise to pick the area you live in, so you can test the app whenever you feel like it.
If you tested the app with your free region and decided that you want to use komoot in more than one region, you have the following options to choose from: You can purchase regions with a one time payment or sign up for our Premium model.
Single region
The single region option allows you to choose a region based on your next adventure. It usually contains one city and its surroundings. Which region is needed for a specific Tour will always be shown when you try to download it. You always need the region the Tour starts in. Choose a single region here to see how much it costs.
Region bundle
The region bundles are bigger and allow you to access multiple single regions in one area for a reduced price. Choose a region bundle here.
World Pack
If you need more than three region bundles or already know that you want to travel the world with us, the World Pack is the best deal for you. All regions we offer in komoot are included here. You can read more about it and see the price here: World Pack
