Whether it’s in your own community or around the country, a helping hand can make all the difference for those who need it most — especially when it’s an entire family who doesn’t have a proper home. Ten JIS High School students, accompanied by chaperones, Head of School Dr. Tarek Razik and Service Learning Coordinator Anne Andrews, lent their helping hand to Habitat for Humanity (H4H) last Saturday and at the same time, learned about day-to-day life in a rural area of Sentul in Bogor, West Java. Thanks to H4H, the students had the chance to shadow carpenters, masons, painters and other trade professionals at a building site for a new home. We’d like to thank the JIS volunteers for their time and efforts, as well as H4H for sharing this valuable experience with us!
