New South Wales teachers are now the highest paid school educators across Australia.
After months of negotiations between the government and New South Wales teachers, the state’s Teachers Federation has agreed to the biggest pay rise in three decades.
Teachers now may take home an extra four to 20 per cent more each year.
The union believes it will make salaries competitive again and attract educators to the profession, decreasing teacher shortages.
The pay rise will come into effect in October.
