This video will demonstrate the Liberatory Maneuver, also known as a Semont Maneuver, for the treatment of posterior canal BPPV. In this video, the patient has a RIGHT posterior canal BPPV. If the left ear is affected by BPPV, reverse the direction of the head and body turns.
The Semont maneuver is not considered to be as effective as the Epley maneuver, but for those who are not able to lay flat on the back due to pain, this maneuver can work quite well which involves laying only on the body’s side.
Alternative to Epley and Semont is the Foster Half-Somersault:
