Meet Jiang Yu Shan, also known as Hisham Al-Haroun, a seasoned martial artist with a remarkable 30-year journey in Taiwan devoted to the practice of Kung Fu and Qigong. Renowned for his mastery of the monkey style and as the inheritor of the Monkey Fist Door, Jiang is a multifaceted expert excelling in Tai Chi, Bagua Zhang, Wing Chun, Xin Yi Ba, and Wu Zhu Quan.
As a 33rd generation Shaolin disciple, Jiang has achieved the esteemed rank of 9th Dan, showcasing his profound proficiency in Chinese Kung Fu. Originating from a wrestling family, he has also delved into catch wrestling, maintaining a notable association with the renowned CACC Snake Pit in Japan.
Jiang's diverse martial arts background extends beyond traditional practices. He served as a drill instructor for the special forces (CMC.SCC) for over a decade, imparting knowledge in hand-to-hand combat, tactical raid strategies, entry team tactics, knife fighting, and hostage rescue to Taiwanese special ops. His earlier experience as an army paratrooper in the German military laid the foundation for his initial military education.
Elevating his status in Taiwanese society, Jiang has earned respect not only for his martial arts prowess but also for his decade-long role as a bodyguard. Uniquely, he has provided protection for several Taiwanese presidents and presidential candidates, breaking barriers as a foreigner serving in such a prestigious role—a rarity on a global scale.
Jiang's commitment to testing his skills led him to compete in kickboxing, Sanda, MMA, and Karate competitions, where he proudly secured seven gold medals. Notably, his crowning achievement was winning the All Japan Karate MMA competition in 2016 in Tokyo, Japan, at the age of 45.
With four decades of Kung Fu training under his belt, Jiang has transitioned into the role of a grandmaster and respected teacher since his twenties. His teachings, rooted in rare and pure lineages of Kung Fu and Qigong, stand out for their uniqueness and effectiveness, distinguishing them from many commercialized forms prevalent in the contemporary martial arts landscape.
