We all carry trauma in some form or another. Whether it’s trauma caused from a big move, the loss of a loved one, or a stressful workplace, we all have experienced some form of trauma that we haven’t fully healed from. In fact, high-stress jobs, like Law Enforcement, can often leave Police Officers struggling with trauma in varying degrees. This week, we are talking with Dr. Carol Logan, Dr. Peggy Brewer-Dowling, and Genaro Sandoval, LCDC.
Dr. Logan is a licensed psychologist who has served for the past 30 years as a police psychologist within 2 metropolitan police departments, first, the
Colorado Springs Police Department, and currently the Austin Police
Department. In addition she has maintained active secondary employment as an executive coach and adjunct faculty member for the Center for Creative Leadership, an international leadership training organization that is listed in the Top 10 of Business Week Magazine.
Dr. Peggy Brewer-Dowling is a Psychologist with significant training and expertise in the fields of trauma and eating disorders. She is extremely passionate about providing hope and recovery to people who struggle with eating disorders and trauma. Dr. Brewer-Dowling is both founder and director of Bulimia Self Help, a web based therapy program for people who are struggling with Bulimia Nervosa who may not be able to access traditional therapy programs.

He is also a Research Assistant and Therapist with the Austin Police Department and is actively facilitating a controlled field research study within the Austin Police Department, Vanderbilt University, and University of Texas LBJ school of social policy.
