Black farmers have made a profound impact on the country’s history and economy. They are a major part of New Jersey’s agricultural landscape as well. However, Black farmers have been victims of years of discriminatory practices and policies. Family-owned K&J Farms in South Jersey is thriving despite the many challenges. Raven Santana visited the farm to learn how a new generation is keeping the legacy of Black farmers alive while serving local communities.
