Hunting for trophy bull elk is liable to take you to some unlikely places! Here I was using an old sheep herders shack to sit and wait for an old bull elk that had been coming in for some of the livestock feed. When this old boy showed up he gave an ear piercing bugle before going after the hay.
I was using a mechanical broadhead and when it hit a tough rib on the entry side, the blades and fletching sheared off the arrow. However, it was a double lung shot and the old bull only went 35 yards before going down.
