The day has finally come officially its the end of an era for the Las Vegas Raiders and Derek Carr as the Raiders have made it official we have officially released Derek Carr from the roster and we can begin the process of building this roster with a new QB
Overall this wasn't an easy decision I feel like for this new regime primarily due to the fact that now they have pressure put on them to find a replacement for Derek Carr
Ultimately it may have not been the easy choice but I do think it was necessary after 9 years I think we can all recognize that this marriage between Derek Carr and the Raiders was never going to amount to anything significant in terms of a championship
Respect to Derek Carr for his effort and time put in with the silver and black, once a raider always a raider but with that being said I am optimistic about the potential of this team moving forward with a new face under center
I think the most likely option moving forward is going to be the Raiders are going to try and trade for the best available veteran QB in the trade market in Aaron Rodgers
But if we cannot land Aaron Rodgers the other option I would definitely be intrigued with, hell I could even make an argument that I may like this option over getting Aaron Rodgers is to draft the best QB in this year's draft
IMO it's close between Alabmab Bryce Young and Ohio State CJ Stroud and if I had to choose I'm going to give the edge to CJ Stroud
CJ Stroud I think is more prepared to start next year, he’s the best overall thrower of the football in this whole draft, has the prototypical ideal size for a franchise QB, he can use his legs he is athletic enough to be a modern-day NFL QB but ultimately he's a pass first QB, just looking at his tape I think put in the right situation he could really be special at QB for his future team
And here's where I'm going to jump into what CJ Stroud said in terms of what NFL Recivere he would want to throw the ball to
CJ Stroud didn't necessarily say Devante Adams but if put 2 and 2 together he let everyone know that he would love to play with our star WR Devante Adams
And after thinking about it, look if the Raiders are going to draft a QB, especially one of these high-potential first-round QBs the Raiders are definitely one of the best situations for these young QBs when you look at the other teams in the top 10 in this years draft
The Raiders have so much talent on the offensive side of the football, having the leagues leading rusher in Josj Jacobs, Best WR in football in Devantge Adams, a top 5 TE in Waller, Hunter Renrfow, and they have a head coach who can call good plays on offense
I understand McDaniels gets a lot of crisistcm in terms of being a head coach but im just strictly focusing on him helping a young QB develop and adapt to the NFL
We saw that with Mac Jones back in New England he made him a pro bowler and after McDaniels left Mac Jones looks like an average QB at best
So really if the Raiders ended up potentially drafting CJ Stroud I think the Raiders would be an ideal spot for CJ Stroud to develop and he would be put in a great situation to succeed compared to the other teams in the top 10
