And @goaliecoaches ([ Ссылка ]) Dave Rogalski hired as New Jersey Devils Goalie Coach ([ Ссылка ])
This is an example of a progression drill for goalies (goalies a bit more advanced) demonstrated by Dave Rogalski with a few of his summer clients. Goalie #1 is Jake Kielly of the Clarkson Golden Knights, Goalie #2 Maxim Zhukov of the Green Bay Gamblers (and one of Russia's top goaltending prospects), and Goalie #3 is Brandon Wildung of Mercyhurst.
Step 1: goalie looks to side, looks center and closes their legs in butterfly.
Step 2: goalie executes a strong push across the crease starting with their leg extended. The key here is ensuring that the trailing leg, your back leg, doesn't "pull in" when pushing across the crease. We want to work on keeping that leg sealed and straight in a nice butterfly position. Zhukov does this very effectively.
Step 3: this step involves both of these together, the goalie closes their legs on puck #1, and pushes across maintaining a perfect seal for the second puck.
This is a fantastic drill for some of your more advanced goaltenders who can really handle it, it's practical and the most challenging piece is ensuring your back leg stays in that nice butterfly position while sealed well on the ice.
